Yes. PDFs and images are parsed in your browser — the raw file never uploads to our servers. Only the extracted text, with emails/phones/IDs automatically masked, is sent to the AI provider for analysis. Nothing is retained unless you explicitly save it to your Vault.

Yes. If a PDF has no selectable text (or is a photo of a page), KnowMyContract automatically routes it through an OCR Vision model, up to 12 pages per document. Progress is shown as pages are processed.
